My phone shut off again at the end of March, that's why I haven't been able to send pictures of what I'm doing at that moment via Blackberry anymore. I have an entirely different number and a temporary lame phone until I can use my Blackberry Tour again.
It's been a very accomplished 3 months, let me tell you that much. I finished my internship at KABC and learned so much from it. I will be using what I learned there for the rest of my life, and throughout my entire career. Since I last updated, I was completing college applications. Now I already know where I'm going and my housing assignment should be available to me soon!
I chose and am going to Chapman University in Orange, CA. It's only about an hour drive from where I live now (Simi Valley), but that's a good thing because I would miss my family WAY too much. Oh, and I got a $10,000 scholarship per year from the school, as well as grants. Everything together, including stafford loans, I got $32,200 to attend Chapman. Pretty goood deal, huh?
I also applied for another scholarship through the Good News Foundation. I won't find out the results to that until late July.
On a sad note, my sister Christine and my wonderful nephew, Noah, moved to Germany about 2 weeks ago for a horrible 3 years. I miss the little guy so much; he was what I looked forward to when I came home from work or school.
This post is jumpy because I'm trying to fill you in on what I've been up to these past months. I am now being PAID to intern at the Los Angeles Firemen's Relief Association and their non-profit organization, the Widows, Orphans and Disabled Firemen's Fund - my broadcast journalism professor at Moorpark College offered me the position! I'm taking care of all of their social networking, writing online stories for LAFRA.org, writing stories for the Firemen's Grapevine Magazine, writing and producing my own broadcast packages and gaining LOTS of writing experience and plenty of website experience too. It's awesome.
Hmmm...what else? LIFE IS GREAT. I am so blessed. God has put my heart in such a wonderful position. I can't wait for school to start in the fall semester...and I can't wait to see where God wants me in this world.
I'll update later, PROMISE THIS TIME! :)
